After my last Empties post in which I reviewed 2 months' worth of empty beauty products, I thought this month's round-up would be relatively small. What I didn't anticipate was the deluge of snow Vancouver got (resulting in major sheet mask usage), or how a bunch of almost empty products would all run out at once.
The Face Shop Real Nature Cucumber Sheet Mask ($3.50)
Quick notes: Great fit for an affordable sheet mask, with plenty of light refreshing essence. Hard to peel apart though.
Would I repurchase? Yes.
Tonymoly Brightening I'm Lemon Sheet Mask ($3.75)
Quick notes: Feels tingly. Not a great fit on the fact, and there wasn't enough extra essence in the packet to spread the product down my neck while the sheet mask was on.
Would I repurchase? No.
The Face Shop Real Nature Bamboo Sheet Mask ($3.50)
Quick notes: Refreshing feel and scent.
Would I repurchase? Yes.
Tonymoly Master Lab Intensive Moisturizing Collagen Sheet Mask ($4)
Quick notes: Soothing and moisturizing.
Would I repurchase? Yes.
Labotica Honey Skin Soft Sheet Mask
Quick notes: Really liked the honey scent and the soothing light essence.
Would I repurchase? Yes.
Tonymoly Pore Care I'm Red Wine Sheet Mask ($3)
Quick notes: As with the other Tonymoly mask in this round-up, this was not a great fit.
Would I repurchase? No.
Juice Beauty Prebiotix Viola + Kumaru Hydrating Gel Moisturizer ($73, previously featured here)
Quick notes: Loved the scent and the lightweight, non-greasy texture of this gel moisturizer. This was a great moisturizer to wear under makeup or sunscreen or blend with a few drops of retinol face oil. For ultra-dry skin in the depths of winter though, this moisturizer was not enough.
Would I repurchase? Maybe.
Fresh Peony Brightening Moisturizing Facial Toner ($81, previously featured here)
Quick notes: This took me ages to use up because I kept switching away to other toners, which probably means that I like it but I don't love it. Despite being left on the shelf for a long time, the consistency and scent of the product didn't go off.
Would I repurchase? No.
Pixi Peel & Polish ($34 on sale for $28.90 at Shoppers Drug Mart, previously featured here)
Quick notes: Great affordable exfoliating treatment which combines fruit enzymes with acids and small granules. I liked that it only took 1-2 minutes to work for those lazy nights when I wanted to climb into bed as quickly as possible. The affordable price tag is a plus too.
Would I repurchase? Yes.
Korres H2Rose Hydrating Facial Mist ($44 at Shoppers Drug Mart, previously featured here)
Quick notes: This product dispensed refreshing, rose-scented clouds of hydrating mist as long as I held it a full arm's length from my face. Anything closer and I'd just get a spurt of concentrated product in one spot. There was a little bit of product left at the bottom of the bottle that I couldn't get to because I couldn't unscrew the cap.
Would I repurchase? No.
Avene Micellar Lotion ($20 at London Drugs, previously featured here)
Quick notes: A skin-softening French pharmacy micellar water that gets the job done.
Would I repurchase? Yes.
La Roche-Posay Micellar Water Ultra ($19.95 at London Drugs, previously featured here)
Quick notes: Also gets the job done. Feels lightweight on skin and doesn't leave residue behind.
Would I repurchase? Yes.
Dior Addict Lip Sugar Scrub Sweet Exfoliating Balm ($45, previously featured here)
Quick notes: On days I was too lazy to use a separate lip scrub, I loved how I could quickly swipe this on and it doubled as exfoliation and a colour-enhancing lip balm.
Would I repurchase? Yes.
Rocky Mountain Soap Company Hydrating Toner ($14, previously featured here)
Quick notes: Pretty much one of my forever faves at this point!
Would I repurchase? Yes.
Omorovicza Thermal Cleansing Balm ($145, previously featured here)
Quick notes: I enjoyed this product down to the last dab of cleansing balm and loved how it made washing my face at home feel luxe and spa-like. However, I don't know if I'd be willing to spend that much on a cleanser going forward, and it stained all my white washcloths and towels.
Would I repurchase? No.
Rocky Mountain Soap Company Lavender Body Butter ($15)
Quick notes: Also a forever fave and a barre/gym bag staple.
Would I repurchase? Yes.
Scentuals Calming Lavender Moisturizing Hand & Body Lotion ($14.95)
Quick notes: I picked this up at my local Winners after my great experience with Scentuals's vanilla tangerine body lotion. As always, it delivered by being affordable and effective and having a wonderful natural scent.
Would I repurchase? Yes.
Deborah Lippmann The Stripper Nail Polish Remover ($25)
Quick notes: The nail polish remover I keep repurchasing. If you can, wait for Nordstrom's anniversary sale; they usually have a promotional 2-for-1 deal.
Would I repurchase? yes.
Rocky Mountain Soap Company Ultimate Massage Butter ($17, previously featured here)
Quick notes: Great for massaging and relieving sore muscles.
Would I repurchase? Yes.
Not Your Mother's Naturals Matcha Green Tea & Wild Apple Blossom Hair Masque ($2.99)
Quick notes: Nice scent. Rich, thick, creamy, super emollient texture that coats every strand.
Would I repurchase? Already have, but the big jar version.
Crabtree & Evelyn Gardeners Hand Therapy (not pictured above)
Quick notes: In my rush to photograph my empties before a morning barre class, I neglected to include this in the photo above. But if you scroll up to the first photo in this post, you can see it in the bottom right corner! This tiny tube of hand cream was the perfect size for tucking into small bags and keeping my hands feeling soft and healthy.
Would I repurchase? Can't, as Crabtree & Evelyn has declared bankruptcy in Canada and closed retail locations.
