My medicine cabinet is looking a lot greener lately, and I'm not just talking about my efforts to go more natural with my skincare—the various Tata Harper bottles that have snuck into my winter routine have literally brightened up the shelves with their signature green-and-gold packaging! Usually I only use one or two Tata Harper products in a more eclectic regimen that also includes drugstore and department store finds. This season, however, my skin seems to be craving intensely moisturizing, all-natural skincare that will leave it hydrated, nourished, and luminous. The four Tata Harper products in this post fit the bill exactly.
Tata Harper 101
If you've never used a Tata Harper product, here's a quick primer on what you can expect:
- Luxe packaging: The green-and-gold glass bottles have a good heft to them, and the pumps and nozzles are designed to dispense just enough product without waste.
- All-natural, potent formulas that really work: Each product is chock full of actives and botanicals with various benefits for skin, and there are no GMOs, toxins, fillers, artificial colours or fragrances, or synthetic chemicals.
- Beautiful textures: Oils, serums, and moisturizers positively melt into skin, while scrubs and cleansers will make you feel as though you're at the spa.
- Heady floral scents: The most surprising thing for first-time users is how each product has a strong, scrumptious, botanical smell that makes the experience of using it even more luxurious. The scent is simply a by-product of the naturals-heavy ingredient lists.
- The signature "Tata glow": A noticeably more even-toned, radiant, hydrated, healthier-looking complexion is practically a guarantee.
Tata Harper Beautifying Face Oil ($89 at BeautyMark)
Billed as "Energetic Skin Therapy," the Beautifying Face Oil promises to target dull, rough skin while restoring essential vitamins and nutrients. The formula's 17 natural ingredients combine to form a clear face oil that's silky and lightweight and smells like a bouquet of fresh flowers. My skin positively drinks it up and immediately looks refreshed.
The beautifully designed dropper mechanism pops out as you unscrew the gold cap; two quick pulses will dispense the perfect amount to moisturize your face and neck. Resist the urge to spread it around on your hands as the oil will just soak into your palms—it's that quick-absorbing. I like pressing this into my skin immediately after dispensing, taking deep breaths and letting the oil's floral scent invigorate my senses, and I use it AM or PM.
Tata Harper Hydrating Floral Essence ($90 at BeautyMark)
100% natural, 95% organic, and chock full of hyaluronic acid, the Hydrating Floral Essence is a cult fave for good reason. (I think this is my third bottle in five years?) Spritz 3-5 times on freshly cleansed skin in the AM or PM—the hyaluronic acid will draw water into skin's outermost layers and plump it up from within before you apply face oil or moisturizer. You can also use the Essence over makeup to refresh skin at any time of the day, after long flights, on hot days, etc. The formula smells like a fresh bouquet of flowers and feels like water with a hint of extra silkiness. I'm prone to dehydration lines across my forehead during the colder months, but I've definitely noticed a difference since incorporating the Hydrating Floral Essence into my AM/PM skincare routines.
Tata Harper Illuminating Eye Creme
The Illuminating Eye Creme promises to address the usual eye area concerns (dark circles, fine lines, dryness) and boasts real diamond dust—how decadent! One squirt of product about the size of sunflower seed is enough for both upper lids and under-eye areas. Its luminous effect is positively addictive and so noticeable that you might be tempted to skip concealer entirely. I've been relying on the Illuminating Eye Creme to fight dark circles and give me a bright-eyed look sans makeup, and although the instructions say it can be used AM or PM, I've been saving it exclusively for AM use to take advantage of its cosmetic benefits. In a pinch, it also doubles as a highlighter or a neutral cream eyeshadow.
Tata Harper Illuminating Moisturizer
Like the Illuminating Eye Cream, the Illuminating Moisturizer features real diamond dust to give skin a soft glow. This one is a bit thinner and a darker peachy hue than the Eye Creme, but like its sister product it can also double as a highlighter or eye colour.
I go back and forth with how I use this one. The first time I used it, I applied it all over my face on a good skin day when everything was already glowing; the effect of the diamond dust made me feel like a Twilight vampire. After that I strictly used it as a highlighter, or if I felt extra dry on my forehead and cheeks I'd dab a light veil of moisturizer on top of the Beautifying Face Oil. However, the other day when I felt like fatigue was seeping out of my pores and my complexion was positively haggard, the all-over luminescence this moisturizer achieved was nothing short of a miracle and looked exactly right. You may have to experiment with the Illuminating Moisturizer to see what works best for you and even that can vary depending on whether you're having a good or bad skin day. Like the Eye Creme though, save this one for AM use to really reap its cosmetic benefits.
Any Tata Harper fans out there? What's your fave product? Have you tried any of these ones?
