Keratin shampoos and conditioners, hair masks, styling cremes...in my quest to tame my tresses, I gravitate towards anything with the words "moisturizing," "smoothing" and "frizz-fighting" in the name, but all these formulas have resulted in product build-up that leaves my strands dull and my roots limp. Luckily for this beauty blogger, LUSH Rehab Shampoo ($13.95-39.95, various sizes) is just what the hair doctor ordered.
LUSH describes Rehab Shampoo as a restorative formula that revives tired hair after bleach, dye, and styling products have done their damage, but at its core this is a mild yet effective clarifying shampoo with lots of lather. The active enzymes in the formula's fruit juices gently cleanse and remove product build-up, a mix of moisturizing oils (jojoba, extra virgin olive oil, almond) smoothes strands, and a blend of herbal oils revives the scalp. The result is soft, refreshed hair sans build-up, on which my moisturizing/smoothing/frizz-fighting products can work their magic once again.
Although it's considerably gentler than other clarifying shampoos I've used, this is still a clarifying formula, which means it's best if used occasionally. Use it too often and it'll dry out hair—which kind of defeats the whole "rehab" thing, doesn't it?
I used to work in Lush and Rehab was my go to shampoo..
ReplyDeleteI have extremely oily hair so it worked wonders on it, I usually have to wash my hair every second day and when I used this shampoo I could get away with washing it twice a week.. It would still look shiny and clean with no signs of greasiness..
Thanks for reminding me about this wonderful product..
I'll definitely have to pick up some more!
