Whoa, an outfit post after three weeks of radio silence! I'll admit, I was so relaxed after our trip to Washington and Virginia that I wanted to let the post-vacation buzz linger for another week instead of stressing out about getting back to the blog right away.
This summer has been one of the most sun-drenched and wonderful ones in recent memory. But with a very full workload, being bridesmaid for my BFF, blog stuff, and attending weddings on weekends, it's also felt a little overwhelming schedule-wise sometimes. I didn't realize how much I needed a break until I returned from vacation and everyone at work commented on how relaxed and well-rested I looked. We have one more wedding to attend this coming weekend, and in the meantime, I plan to savor the rest of the summer before a really crazy fall begins. (More about that later.)
Sartorially speaking, I've been keeping it simple. This palm print romper has been on heavy rotation for summer weekend wear: it's the perfect "one piece and you're done" outfit that's comfortable enough to lounge in at home, but cute enough to wear out and about. On really hot days, I'd just wear the romper with a pair of flat leather sandals and big sunnies. Now that August is here and there's a crispness to the air in the mornings and evenings, I'm topping it with a denim jacket and a statement necklace that pulls everything together.
P.S. If you're looking for a few necklaces or other baubles to dress up your fall wardrobe, definitely check out Happiness Boutique, who very kindly sent me this necklace. They offer free shipping and ship worldwide in a timely manner, and even have a customer reward program. Quality-wise, I'd say the necklace I received is commensurate with the costume jewelry quality level of J. Crew, but at much more palatable prices.
Adore your jumper!! and love love love the necklace.
