A textured moto here, brightly coloured pumps there...if a girl isn't careful, her predilection for standout items is bound to leave her with a closet full of clothes and nothing to wear. Basics are important, which is why I admire west coast retailer Plenty's back-to-basics approach to dressing this spring.
These oft-overlooked pieces are far from boring. Worn together, they impart a restrained chic. Paired with patterns and bright hues, they provide an anchor. Even if a bystander's gaze is first drawn to the jacket's pattern or the teal suede shoes, ultimately what makes these statement pieces sing are the simple white tee and well-fitting skinny jeans.

I absolutely love this type of jacket, but for some reason .. the arms are always too tight for me. Oh. well .. I 'm sure I'll find a brand that fits.

You should try Gap then. I find the sleeves on this jacket a little wide and loose, but that means they'll accommodate a sweater and multiple layers just fine. :)
DeleteLove this outfit! This is the kind of stuff I want to wear more of as I simplify my wardrobe. Thanks for the inspiration!
