"Ooh, lady in red!" the boy quipped when he saw this look. But then again, red seems like an inevitable choice this time of the year. Between Chinese New Year, Valentine's Day, and cheering on Team Canada at the Winter Olympics, a little scarlet (or crimson, burgundy, or maroon) is bound to sneak into outfits.
This look is something I would wear if the boy were taking me out for an extravagant, romantic evening on the town this Valentine's Day. I love the sheen and print of this silk Hanii Y blouse (rediscovered after my big closet purge last weekend!), and how well the blue and gold pair with the red. Designer accessories and rose gold nails add some luxury and texture to an otherwise simple look. In reality though, this outfit will have to wait for another day as we're driving down to Seattle for some salsa dancing on Valentine's Day weekend—much more low-key.
Happy Monday! And to my fellow British Columbians, hope you're having a great Family Day long weekend.
Beautiful!

Thanks, Rebecca! I love them but I don't wear them as often as I'd like. Prada suede and Vancouver rain don't mix. Sigh.
Deletelove the shoulders on that top. i always look for interesting structural details like that!
ReplyDeleteThey definitely enhance the visual interest of this blouse!
