As you can probably tell from this week's lackluster blog posts, I've hit a bit of a slump. Burnout, if you will. And in an effort to revive my flagging energy and low spirits, quiet evenings at home have superseded working on the blog, answering emails, and attending events.
My blah state of mind seems to have translated into not wanting to think very much about daily outfits, so I've been reaching for staples that make me feel put together with minimal effort. A classic trench and basic black bow flats are pretty much no-brainers--so timeless, but they feel au courant paired with a graphic intarsia sweater and bright trousers. I like the mix of bracelets too; they seem to say "Look, I really did try, honest!" even though we both know that's not the case.
If you're waiting for something from me, my sincere apologies--another weekend and I should be back to my old self again. In the meantime, have a great weekend!
Good for you to recognize that you need to restore your energy through quiet time at home. Having classic pieces in your wardrobe are perfect for days when you are less-inspired to put together an outfit. Hope you feel revitalized soon!
ReplyDeleteThanks Elisse! I'm sure another weekend of taking it easy will put me right.
DeleteI feel like this week has been a bit of a slump for me a well. Hopefully you'll feel better once the weather is warmer ;)
ReplyDeleteI loooove those flats! I've been eyeing them on the Banana Republic website, but my size is long gone!
Bold Subtlety
Thanks Annick!
DeleteThe flats are great, aren't they? They go with so many outfits and they're my new basic black flat. :)
