Wardrobe-wise, I'm still reaching for a lot of basics. We've had sublime weather all week--sunshine and temperatures in the mid-teens--so I seized the opportunity to wear a pencil skirt with bare legs. A knotted chambray shirt (purchased during my last Seattle trip) and beige flats tempered the skirt's tailored, ladylike vibe. Some of my stylistic staples--red lipstick, a fun statement necklace, classic shades--rounded out the look.
So as it turns out, getting over burnout takes more than just a weekend. (Who knew?) I've been trying to keep stress at bay by taking it easy and returning to yoga. A new haircut and some mid-week date nights with the boy also helped, and I'm already looking forward to the prospect of salsa and more yoga classes. Maybe more sunshine too (are you listening, Mother Nature?); I've gotten used to this whole relaxing-strolls-after-dinner routine.
Enjoy your weekend!
P.S. Only 4 days left to enter my Shu Uemura giveaway!
P.P.S. Just realized this is my 1300th post. Wow.
Love the patterned pencil skirt!

Aw thank you! It was very comfortable indeed.
DeleteOnce you find a chambray shirt you love, suddenly the outfit options seem to flow. I have been eying the J Crew No. 2 pencil skirt, but have yet to try it on. Looks like it is a great staple to add to my closet. Congrats on your 1300th post!
ReplyDeleteYes, definitely agree re. the chambray shirt.
DeleteI have 4 No. 2 pencil skirts and counting--can't seem to get enough of them!
Let me know how the No. 2 pencil skirts fit you!
DeleteThat skirt is wonderful! I'm also a fan of the No. 2 pencil skirt, although I admit to really liking the wool styles better (less wrinkling after a long day in the office).
ReplyDeleteAlso a fan of the wool ones!
DeleteI love the print on that pencil skirt. I really contemplated buying it, but I have a lot of JCrew pencil skirts already. I have the wool one in black, but it's a bit thin-I might go back and buy it in the thick cotton version they sell in the summer (I have that in green and the thickness is great).
ReplyDeleteWe seem to keep buying the same pencil skirts; I also have the thick cotton one in green. :-)
DeleteCute new haircut, Lisa!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I was overdue for a change.
