Words can't express how nice it is to be out and about after that awful cold! Yesterday's agenda included work and a media preview for Sancha Jewelry. That was followed by a wonderful cocktail party at the Room at the Bay in honour of Derek Blasberg and his new book, Very Classy. Between sips of white wine and wonderful conversations with people I hadn't seen in a long time or was just meeting for the first time, I took advantage of the Room's superior lighting and full-length mirrors to do the quick outfit shot you see above. Fuchsia lipstick, orange blouse, purple skirt: it's not a colour combination I've ever tried before, but I think that when worn with black the effect is nice without being glaringly bright.
Then it was off to Guu Garden for a late dinner, where Alicia, Monica, Jen, Jen's boyfriend David and I had a terrific time talking over sashimi, tuna tataki and udon. (Did I mention how wonderful it is to be able to eat something other than soup and Hall's lozenges? Because it really, really is.) Afterwards, I met up with the boy at the dance studio where he was rehearsing his mambo routine for his Vancouver International Salsa Festival performance.
Event recaps full of photos will have to wait until next week. Have a great weekend, lovely readers!

I am in love with the colors. I always think the key to saturated tones is perfect tailoring, and you nailed both.
ReplyDeleteLOVE this, Lisa! Such a great mix of black and brights.
ReplyDeleteLOVE your booties, Lisa!

Beautiful, happy, bright outfit!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it amazing how much a bright fuchsia lipstick can camouflage one's sickness? Because I wouldn't have guessed you weren't feeling 100%.
Congrats on being able to eat solids again! I seem to be living on a diet of tea, cheese and sugar at the moment.
Had SO much fun last night, was really great to see you, friend. Glad you're feeling better and I just loved the bright outfit components (I really should have read the memo on spring neons haha). And those booties were such a steal...some really beautiful footwear! xo
ReplyDeleteLOVE the colours! Dressing in colourful attire really makes you feel better, doesn't it? I know the feeling about dining off Halls, I've been feeling like a Debbie downer lately, hopefully you've fought your cold off.
ReplyDeleteHave a fantastic weekend Lisa!
P.S. The Room really does have the best mirrors and lighting.
Wouldn't have thought to pair that purple and orange but it works so well together!
ReplyDeleteThose rings are great!

Loving the combo of neons! But I am one of those people who never met a colour she didn't pair with five others.
