Bright colours always make me think of that song that goes "Forget your troubles, c'mon, get happy," and at the DKNY fall/winter 2011 media preview I attended last week, there were plenty of happiness-inducing brights to be seen. Not just brights, but colour-blocking, stripes, texture-blocking and fun feminine takes on suiting, puffy outerwear, moto jackets and silk blouses. Here's a glimpse of what you can expect this season; for more, you'll have to check out their store on South Granville.
Puffy jackets in bright colour combinations and surprising textures
This 3/4 length puffy coat unsnaps into two halves. Wear the top half as a bomber jacket and the bottom half as a miniskirt with your favourite sweater and leggings.
Colourful stripes!
Colour- and texture-blocking are major motifs for DKNY this season.
Liven up the neutrals in your closet with a bright blazer.
Low-heeled pumps adorned with bows at the vamp are a perennial classic, but the steel bows on these are unexpectedly edgy and ladylike all at once.
Love the bright colors. DKNY has such classic American style.
