Keep your hands free and your essentials close by with a small cross body bag. They're the perfect size for toting around your cell phone, keys, lipstick and a few other sundries without weighing you down. I always love how I feel fancy-free and up for anything when I wear mine. A night out on the town or dinner and a movie. Lazy Sunday brunch or grocery shopping. Outdoor concerts or late-night walks with that special someone.
Because the bag is so small, I like the idea of upping the fun factor by choosing ones with unusual details and bright colours. Classic touches like chain straps and turnlock clasps add enough polish to take the bag from day to night. This style has been going strong for several seasons now, and for women who want panache and practicality in their bags, it shows no signs of slowing down.

ReplyDeleteI have a marc jacobs crossbody bag that is my staple- it's so comfortable- especially to wear to a concert or dancing. But it's black, and I like your idea of going with a fun color or with fun details. Since mine is getting worn, I think I'll invest in another in a cute color soon
ReplyDeleteI love the Rebecca Minkoff one. Why is it that I always pick luxe? Although it's still pretty affordable.
ReplyDeleteThanks for a marvelous posting! I really enjoyed reading it, you are a great author.I will ensure that I bookmark your blog and definitely will come back sometime soon. I want to encourage you continue your great work, have a nice afternoon!
ReplyDeleteI've been a massive fan of cross body bags for years. I love having my hands and arms free! I do find that I do have some floaty skirts that I can't wear a cross body bag with though because it kind of gets the skirt all caught up when I'm walking (if the starp on the bag is long)! I just got a new bright pinky-red cross body bag from Zara that I am loving using over the summer :-)
ReplyDeletecrossbody bags have saved my (social) life! I no longer have to complain about carrying a suitcase around. It's so perfect for concerts, sightseeing, etc. when you don't want to worry about a giant bag. That studded Zara one is adorable (picked less for once!)
ReplyDeleteThe Rebecca Minkoff one is so pretty and the colour of the MbMJ is gorgeous! But while I would love to be able to carry everything I need in a tiny bag, I just can't... my wallet in itself is big (I prefer long envelope wallets) and since I take public transit a lot I'm always carrying around a book and a big water bottle.. things I'd rather just throw into a bag!
ReplyDeleteHope you're having a good week Lisa!

Aldo has some great bags but I just can't being myself to buying Aldo and Zara bags, for one thing they're not cheap cheap, and I dunno lol
ReplyDeletePop Champagne, I know what you mean. At least with Zara the bags are made of real leather though.
ReplyDeletefor several years i have been carrying massive bags - we all have been - but i have to admit a small cross body feel sooo refreshing. i think i'm gonna have to find me a little bright number so i can have my hands free to shoot pictures!

I've been having a thing for crossbody bags. So convenient and cute at the same time. I'm in love with the Marc Jabob ones too ...but a tad pricey for me :(
ReplyDeleteGreat post on this selection of mini cross-body bags.
ReplyDeleteMy next question, and request for a future Solo Lisa post: what cute wallets, accessories, or must-haves can a girl fit into these types of petite purses?
Elisse, duly noted!
