I love mixing and matching my clothes and accessories and coming up with new outfits, but most days you'll find me in a variation of what I call my "default outfit": flats, jeans, a cardigan, and a tank top or tee. Formulaic, yes; however, there are ways to freshen this formula up. Change up the shoes, put on a fancier top, try a cardigan in a different silhouette. In this case, I put on a new flowery statement necklace--my first foray into dramatic bib-like statement necklaces. The tank top I'm wearing is one of my Holy Grail items: opaque white tank tops that can be layered or worn on their own. Why are they so hard to find?! Whenever I do find them I always buy multiples.
- Cardigan (Banana Republic)
- Tank top (TNA)
- Jeans (Mavi)
- Flats (Nordstrom Rack)
- Necklace (Spring Shoes)
- Pearl studs (Claire's)
What a fabulous necklace, Lisa! It adds so much sass to this chic ensemble.
ReplyDeleteMy fallback is leggings, boots, and a sweaterdress. Well, in the winter months, anyway!
The necklace was from spring?? Wow I'm surprised. It's gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteooooh...I love the statement necklace. Can't believe it's from Spring. Must have been a bargain then! Nice :)

ReplyDeleteThx for the tips on paris - i really want to check out the rodin museum. I can't wait!
Default outfit..hmm...skinny jeans, mid heeled high boots, tee with bf blazer or cropped leather jacket.
Yours is a formula that most def works! Mine is a sundress, flippy floppies and a long necklace.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, darling!
ReplyDeleteLove your necklace!

I might have to make a visit to Spring now. I've never been but that necklace is calling my name.
ReplyDeleteI was terrified for a moment that you were wearing cement, but it was just the way the light hit your sweater at first glance.
ReplyDeleteAre those ruffles on your flats? Too cute!
ReplyDeleteAww it's cute. Especially with the necklace.
ReplyDeleteThat necklace is to die for.
ReplyDeleteMy fallback outfit: cargos, t-shirt, and fun and colorful tennis shoes. They're all washable items which makes it easy when your kids have stomach flu, which my boys have been fighting ALL weekend. Ugh!
I know I'm biased towards monochromatic outfits but I can't help it, you look so chic! still loving the hair, the bangs really suit you and that necklace is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteLovely Lisa!! I want a pair of Steve Madden's Oxfords!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the inspiration!
Love the whole outfit!! Looks great!!
ReplyDeleteCan't go wrong with the default outfit - what is it about a default outfit that brings us a sense of comfort ... (or confidence?)
ReplyDeleteMy default outfit would definitely include a cardigan or some sorts too :)
I am so fascinated by the various ways that bib necklaces can be worn. I love the way you have integrated yours so smoothly in your outfit!
