When I blogged about my excitement over the new Sephora store downtown and mentioned my interest in the MAKE UP FOR EVER lip glosses, Asian Cajuns wanted to know how they worked out for me. I'm pleased to report that the lip glosses are just as ultra-pigmented as they promised to be. Although the colours look ridiculously bright in the tube, they provided my naturally rosy lips with just a pleasant pop of red, fuchsia, and coral. The red and coral were more subtle, while the fuchsia was the most distinctive hue. I'm also a fan of the minty flavour and the non-sticky texture. The lip glosses retail for $22 Cdn each, so the 3-pack ($38) was definitely a better deal.
Wearing the red lip gloss, which looks quite subtle in the photo. In real life the red is reminiscent of candy apple sugar.
Dream Sequins (who's hosting a fantastic giveaway for a Necklush piece on her blog, by the way) asked for a picture of me wearing the 'Valve' earrings I received from DESIGN + CONQUER.
Thanks for the info on the lipglosses. I saw these in Sephora a while ago and was wondering how bright the colors would look in real life. Oh, and you look terrific with those earrings!
ReplyDeleteLisa can u pls. recommend some art and home decor books for my Mom... she has an interest in these subjects but doesn't give her hobbies due attention.. I want her to do so, so I'm asking u for ur advice... the issue though, here is her first language is not english thus, illustration heavy books would be best right? I mean there are tons out there... but I'm not sure what would be right for these specific req.
ReplyDeleteLisa, pls. get back to me a soon as u can.

ReplyDeleteBoth of these are so sweet & subtle!
ReplyDeleteThat wouldn't be enough red for me :-)
ReplyDeleteThe gloss is fantastic - beautifully subtle, just as you say
ReplyDeleteI love Makeup Forever products, especially their eyeliner. I am a huge fan because it never seems to rub off, even after a long day. (with other products I'm forever looking like a raccoon!) I will definitely have to give those lipglosses a try.
ReplyDeletethose earrings are beautiful!!! I love that gloss color on you...so pretty!
ReplyDeleteLisa! Have you ever tried Korean b.b. cream? Just wondering since the skincare post made me think about it...
ReplyDeletei love to buy lipgloss but i promise myself i will not buy more until i use up my old ones....
ReplyDeleteAvantika, thanks for the kind words! I'm not much of a domestic diva myself so I can't recomment any art and home decor books. If your mom is computer-savvy, she might enjoy reading home decor blogs more, though. Dana of Deco Love writes a fantastic decor blog in English and Spanish and it's full of inspirational pictures. She may be able to help you with book and magazine recommendations better than I can. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteNoel, I haven't tried Korean b. b. cream. Have you? Do you know if it's any good?
I love those Valve earrings. Yum I love mint gloss. Have a great weekend hottie !
ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan of Make up forever! I am running out though! I have not decided what I am going to get next!
ReplyDeleteLisa you are STUNNING.
ReplyDeleteThat red looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteVery neat - I'm always looking for better liploss. I wonder if we have Sephora in Hong Kong... I'll have to check it out.
ReplyDeleteLove the earrings, too!
Oh, I actually got an e-mail from Sephora to come into the store and get those glosses for free since I just had my b-day:) hehe
ReplyDeleteThey are awesome!
Hope you had a fab weekend darling:)
xoxo
Mimi
That seals the it, I must order these!
ReplyDeleteStill love those earrings and it's wild seeing that lipgloss on you. You're right when you say it looks entirely different than it does in the tubes.
ReplyDeleteI so need to stop into Sephora.
Ooh I love that gloss on you! I'm always on the hunt for a lipgloss like that... And great earrings! Thanks for posting them!
ReplyDeleteThose lipglosses sound great. I've never been much of a make-up girl, but I'm beginning to see the light that is Sephora.
ReplyDeletethanks for the recommendation, I've been enjoying your makeup reviews!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the review. I'm going to try those glosses next time.
