Product Review: Philosophy Eye Believe Eye Cream

I was quite intrigued by the Philosophy Eye Believe eye cream I spotted at Sephora when I finally found the time to browse the new Pacific Centre location. This fast-acting, fast-absorbing balm contains peptides and promises to firm and moisturize the delicate skin around the eye area.

Fast forward 1.5 weeks, and while I can affirm that this product does what it claims, I'm not sure I'm as utterly devoted to it as I am to other tried-and-true products in my daily regimen. It does moisturize and firm the skin around the eyes, and it does indeed absorb very quickly--so quickly, in fact, that at times I second-guess whether I've put enough product on, although one look in the mirror can confirm that I have. I appreciate the fact that it's unscented and therefore won't irritate sensitive eyes. The packaging design deserves some props too: The upside-down squeeze tube has a fine needlepoint opening that dispenses just enough product in a sanitary way, unlike those jars where you're dabbing your fingers in the product all the time.

  1. I almost got this but decided to get back to my old reliable Clinique. Wonder if they have sample at Sephora I could try. Great review and really good to know!

  3. Does that cream help get rid of eye bags and ease puffiness?

I currently use the Elderflower Eye gel and the Vitamin E Eye Cream.

The Eye Gel is good for cooling the skin area so that it eases the puffiness. The cream is alright, I haven't used it as much.

  5. Does it help with fine lines? I might go pick some up after work today....I need an amazing eye cream for fine lines!

I'm on the constant search for something that will help fine lines around my eyes. I tried the No. 7 Boots Serum that everyone in England went bat-shit crazy for, and I wasn't impressed....it actually made my skin break out a bit. The eye cream was so-so; it moisturized, I guess....but I didn't really see any changes.

  6. Dummeow, for puffiness I actually use the Garnier caffeine eye roll-on in the mornings before applying my eye makeup. Sometimes if it's really bad I whip out the gel mask that I keep in the fridge and strap the mask on to reduce puffiness. You can get the gel mask at Daiso for $2.

Kage, I think the peptide complex in this eye cream is supposed to help fine lines and the package advises using this cream around the eyes and the lip area. I haven't seen dramatic results in this area because I don't have that many fine lines to speak of, though. I'm mainly enjoying this eye cream for its moisturizing and preventative benefits.
