Confession time: I fantasize about certain outfits I want to wear and just wait for the right weather conditions to wear them in. This means that long before the leaves change colour in autumn, I know which skirt I want to pair with boots and tights on the first crisp day of the season. I know the dress I want to wear when the first scorching summer day dawns. And I can't wait to pull out a certain scarf or coat in the dead of winter.
This outfit was born out of said fantasies. I thought of it over the weekend after hearing that sunny skies and a balmy 16 degrees Celsius (albeit with a brisk wind) were forecast for Monday, and on the morning of, I couldn't resist donning 3/4 sleeves, capris, and peep-toe shoes. It balanced my desire to wear something a little more spring-like with a need to stay warm in case the weather report had been too optimistic.
- Top (Two of Hearts)
- Capris (American Eagle)
- Blazer (Gap)
- Wedges (Karen Elise, from the Army & Navy shoe sale)
I love love love that top! And I totally plan outfits for when the weather changes lol. Still waiting for warmer weather for some of my imagined summer outfits.
ReplyDeleteVery cute. I love the pop that the dark blazer adds!
ReplyDeleteHa! I do the SAME THING. And lady, you look amazing in yellow - love it!
ReplyDeleteNot really - I just have a row of sun dresses screaming at me to wear them, so I did that haha
ReplyDeleteTrisch xo
Eee I love that top, the pop of bright yellow totally evokes sunny weather! The shoes are very cute too and make me look forward to the Army & Navy sale :)
ReplyDeleteHehe cool poses, much better than the ol' standing mirror ones.
Love this look, L! Great find on that Gap blazer - it looks fabulous on you!

P.S. Ordered my CC business cards today - am so excited!
Cute outfit... you look so cute! The perfect time to wear it too before it starts raining again!
ReplyDeleteI love yellow because it makes everyone look nice and tanned. =P
Don't worry -- I'm ALWAYS planning my outfits...for the upcoming season, for work, for the weekends. I'm a bit of a clothes whore and I can't stop myself from trying on all types of combinations.
ReplyDeleteI really love the yellow -- very spring-like. :)
Ooh! So cute! I love this top on you. I plan to wear things way in advance for events usually...
ReplyDeletelove the outfit lisa!! can't wait for more sunny days!
ReplyDeleteI love this outfit. I am a huge fan of yellow.
ReplyDeleteI totally plan outfits in advance. I'll have the heat on high in my room and just play around with clothes I know I can't wear outside yet.
Hello all. I am the mother of a seventeen year old boy who's looking for the perfect pair of sneakers for a Spring dance. He has a green shirt and wants a new pair of shoes with some green in them. We live in Richmond and have looked at Richmond Centre, Lansdowne and other smaller stores but can't find anything. Would any of you fashionable folks be able to steer me in the direction of some Vancouver stores that have a good selection of cool guys sneakers ( preferably Adidas but open to others-colour and coolness being most important factors!) Thank so much in advance.
ReplyDeleteSahm (out of touch with Vancouver fashion!)
Very nice outfit. The yellow works really well.
ReplyDeletePinto yellow! :)
ReplyDeleteI pre-plan outfits ALL the time, but then end up taking part of it off and switching it out with something else. I wish I had a more streamlined method to getting dressed in the morning, though!
Sahm, an answer to your sneaker dilemma is coming soon! Since I'm not much of a sneakerhead, I've enlisted the help of a guy friend who is. He'll be guest-posting on Solo Lisa on Friday, so stay tuned.
ReplyDeleteto be honest
ReplyDeleteit's better with legging..
Thank you Lisa. Someone else pointed me in the direction of the Adidas store on Granville so that sounds promising. We'll be heading out late Friday morning to a dentist appt then shopping so I'll try to check back and get those recommendations before we go!
ReplyDeleteSadly, it's not so sunshine-y here anymore. My fingers are crossed for a nice weekend so everyone can wear something fun and spring-y.
Sahm, the Adidas store is definitely an option. I think the Puma store is on the same block (or just a block away) too.
ReplyDeleteI definitely fantasize about what I can wear when the weather changes - especially when I'm anticipating winter - I love having an excuse to pile on the layers!
ReplyDeleteI love the yellow top! Very cute!
ohh, yeah, I was fantasizing about spring in December!
ReplyDeleteSunny indeed!
ReplyDeleteI love the sunniness of your top- you look awesome!
ReplyDeleteAnd I definitely plan outfits for weather- or (and this may be more neurotic) I plan outfits for what I'm willing the weather to be. I often end up cold.
hehe...that's funny, because I always do the same:) especially if I buy let's say a new top, I start thinking of ways I'll be wearing it with other stuff in my closet:)
ReplyDeleteIt's a fun process! :)
xoxo

ReplyDeleteOh, love the yellow! & such great shots!
ReplyDeletefantastic outfit!
ReplyDeleteCute sweater!
ReplyDeleteSahm, I'm really sorry about not having the sneaker post up today. The guy friend who was supposed to write the post hasn't submitted a draft or answered any communication today. In any case, I hope your shopping today was fruitful!
ReplyDeleteNot a problem Lisa. My son will be wearing his new "old school" adidases in bright forest green with white stripes tonight. The Adidas store was just the thing. He's very happy. Thanks for your help though!
ReplyDeleteOoo such a lovely outfit!! I really like the bright splash of yellow which you've contrasted so nicely with the black adn white. Heh well the weather's the same throughout the entire year for me but I do find myself zoning out planning outfits to wear for upcoming weeks ;)
ReplyDeleteSandals. I count down the days until sandals :)
