Are you staring at your list of New Year's resolutions with a sense of dismay and trepidation? I have the perfect antidote for you: two inspirational quotes I came across while re-reading one of my childhood favourites, Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery. These quotes will certainly help keep me on track, reminding me of the wonderful possibilities, style, and sparkle that 2009 might hold for me. And hey, if the going gets tough, I can always go shopping according to the rationale expressed in the second quote!
"Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for the imagination then, would there?"
-Anne to Matthew during the ride from the train station to Green Gables
"It is ever so much easier to be good if your clothes are fashionable. At least, it is easier for me. I suppose it doesn't make such a difference to naturally good people."
-Anne to Diana shortly before visiting Miss Josephine Barry
Love these quotes! One of my fave stories :)
