My name is Lisa and I've been writing a fashion/pop culture/personal blog, Solo Lisa y Nada Mas, on Live Spaces for the past two years or so. Recently, I became dissatisfied with the features available on Live Spaces and decided to make the switch to Blogger, migrating all of my content from the old URL to the new one. The content from August 2006 to June 2008 was previously published on my Live Spaces blog.
When I first began considering blog migration, I searched high and low via Google for some sort of script that would automate the process and make it as painless as possible, but to no avail. I found a script that could migrate blogs from Blogger to Live Spaces but not the other way around, so sadly, I had to do it all manually.
During the process, I made the decision to migrate the comments that readers had left on my blog as well. Unlike other bloggers, I've had very little experience with negativity or haters; I've always been delighted with the thoughtful and articulate responses I received. These comments mean a lot to me, and I didn't want to lose them just because I was packing up and moving to a new URL.
Off the top of my head, I'm really happy about these Blogger features, which are a great improvement over what I had before and satisfy my inner geek girl:
- the ability to assign multiple labels/categories to posts
- the ability to create an infinite number of labels
- spell check
- more control in editing the main page's HTML
- complete control over if and how ads appear on your blog
- more options for readers who want to leave comments
A big thank you to the visitors so far, and to the bloggers who've updated their blogrolls with my new URL and left comments on my posts already!
