If you've been following my Beauty United adventures and Instagram, you'll recognize this look: It's the same outfit I wore for the Grammy viewing party, but meticulously re-created and photographed in Vancouver over the weekend. As dedicated as I am to this blog, I wasn't about to risk frostbite and pneumonia to get well-lit outdoor outfit shots in Toronto! The chambray shirt is a recent acquisition and my third one to date. I can't seem to stop buying multiples of basics that work.
I may be buying multiples of the garments that work, but I've also been getting rid of things that don't. In a sudden fit of cleaning mania, this weekend I purged my walk-in closet of everything that doesn't fit me or suit my style anymore. I also tackled my beauty bins and drawers, searching for unused products that could be donated to causes like Beauty Night.
Three trash bags of clothes and two boxes of beauty products later, I feel loads better. My closet is full of pieces I actually wear. The next time I dig for a product to review, I don't have to wade through lotions and potions better suited to someone else's skin or hair type. What's more, my spirits feel much lighter and my mind more unfettered as I embark on the Year of the Horse.
P.S. My Swarovski Amorous pendant giveaway ends tomorrow! Enter if you haven't already.
I think those are the perfect loafers!
ReplyDeleteI just did much the same ... cleaned out some makeup that wasn't working for me. I usually tackle the closet per season.

The post-cleaning feeling is the best, isn't it?
DeleteSuch a pretty look! Love the denim on denim and the addition of the edgy loafers! Great look Lisa!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Annick!
DeleteLove this outfit! Congratulations on the closet purge too—I've been doing the same too, but it's been a surprisingly long process (especially trying to sell some things on eBay).
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your closet purging!
Deletei esp like the necklace!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Definitely not letting go of this piece, that's for sure. :)
DeleteI've been going through a cleansing kick as well -- I used to be vehemently against buying several shades of the same pieces that worked for me but I've let up on that. I just can't help that button downs + jeans are my fave.
ReplyDeleteTell me about it. Maybe this is just a sign that we're finding our signature style. ;)
DeleteThe latest trend, polka dot chambray, offers a chic yet relaxed look perfect for any occasion. Pair it with tailored trousers or a skirt for effortless style. For outfit tips, do my assignment in Brampton to explore fashion insights further.
