Sephora On My Mind

Sephora may be old news for my American readers, but for myself and other Vancouverites getting one of these huge beauty emporiums has been long overdue. Tomorrow marks the grand opening of the Pacific Centre location in downtown Vancouver; dare I brave the madness and the hordes and venture there for a quick look after work?! To celebrate and to, ahem, focus my shopping when I eventually venture through its black-and-white striped street entrance, I've already picked out the product I'm most interested in. This MAKE UP FOR EVER Glossy Full Couleur Collection is a value pack of three "ultra pigmented" coral, red, and fuchsia glosses. Now, normally I try to refrain from buying lip gloss as no matter what shade of lip gloss I use, it doesn't look like the shade in the container once it's on; it just looks like my lips' natural dark rose colour with some shiny stuff on top. However, I do like the ease of a gloss and the "ultra pigmented" part sounds quite promising. This will warrant some investigation...

Ohhhh Sephora is my candy store! And the Make up For Ever line is really amazing!!
ReplyDeleteooolala! Sephora-land! Glad you guys are getting one! Tell us how those lip glosses work. I'm always on the prowl for good, lasting coverage- with out the tacky feeling some leave you with.
ReplyDeleteSounds interesting (the lip gloss, not the opening, not that that's not interesting), I absolutely adore the burt's bees lip gloss and lip shimmer, but my lips are naturally pale.
ReplyDeletereds look really great on you. hopefully they're not sticky like MAC
ReplyDeleteGot your comment- and added the blogroll! Sorry about that ;)

I better see in depth coverage of the new store! My strategy is to wait it out for like... 3 weeks :) And then mascaras will be explored
ReplyDeletelove makeup forever. I use their eye shadows and they last the whole day!
ReplyDeleteI went and it actually wasn't that crazy! Of course I went later in the day so the line was only a few minutes. I'm not a big gloss person, but the absolutely awesome thing about Sephora is that you can try anything on before you buy it! So if you try those glosses and they don't work on you, you won't have wasted hard-earned moolah on them! Oh, though. Be careful with the trying on. I did a whole face of makeup on myself, flitting back and forth between different brands and now I covet everything I tried! Eek!
ReplyDeleteSephora is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteA lip gloss that stays on and isn't sticky?! Surely not! I need to try this ASAP.
ReplyDeleteSo did you go? How was it? Is our Sephora store as beautiful as the ones in the States?
ReplyDeleteThe Anthology, I didn't end up going. The crowds and line-ups sounded a little scary to be honest and this weekend ended up being a frantic one of many errands, but I think a trip next weekend is in order. =)
ReplyDeleteI went yesterday with Vanessa. No lineups but it was bonkers and messy and many things were sold out and I bought a bunch of things I maybe probably didn't need. Oh well, twas fun!
